Virgil Abloh x Takashi Murakami Collaborate For More Shirts
Additional Virgil Abloh x Takashi Murakami shirts will be available soon. The pair continues to work on this project together.
Virgil Abloh, Takashi Murakami, and Gagosian Gallery London teamed up for “wearable art” featuring William Shakespeare. The three-way collaboration sees the creation of an interesting and exciting tee.
The design features a portrait of William Shakespeare with neon pink paint overlays and Murakami’s signature insignia. The back of a white t-shirt with Off-White branding showcases the artwork with the text “HANDMADE.”
The Handmade Tale
This time, Virgil Abloh and Takashi Murakami confirmed that they will be pairing up once more for collaborative screenprinted shirts. Murakami also took to Instagram to reveal how the Off-White designer visited his studio to discuss future plans.
Moreover, the two got to work immediately on a series of screenprinted tees. Blank tees received hand-printed imagery that combines Murakami’s signature style with Off-White’s trademark logo.
Murakami’s Instagram post showed the extent of their work. There is a substantial amount of shirts in the photo. It also reveals how Abloh handled the screenprinting process for some of the shirts.
There has been no announcement on the release date yet. Nonetheless, it may coincide with the collaborative show of Gagosian Gallery.
