It’s no secret that 2020 has been such a hectic year! But who knew a streetwear brand would do something so drastic about it? The French streetwear brand Tenshi has released a new subline that’s all about weathering these bad times with badass streetwear, a touch of technology, and looking cool!
Culture and Fashion in Equal Measure
Although Tenshi is a French streetwear brand started by two Parisians back in 2017, it was a trip to Tokyo, Japan that inspired them to establish it. Influenced by Asian streetwear and culture, this hybrid of the East and West put forth a new label that blends both styles and sensibilities together in perfect harmony.
Underground Dystopic Chic
This time around, the whole “East-meets-West” look gets a slightly dystopic makeover in the brand’s latest collection, “Techwear.” Domineering shapes, sturdy fabrics, and heavy styling, pack in the punch. They all appear to simulate a wardrobe for post-apocalyptic survivors. There’s a heaviness there, as well as a futuristic edge that almost takes fashion even more forward.
The silhouettes are, as expected, large and lively. It’s not that they’re just oversized, but rather, they appear to have overgrown even more. Slight touches of the Japanese kimono and the Korean hanbok are almost visible amidst the rather somber grey-toned color scheme. But the mixture of all these elements only puts the “cool” factor into maximum overdrive!
Tenshi’s new “Techwear” collection is available now on the brand’s online store. Check out the entire selection and share your thoughts and reactions in our comments section below!
