If you didn’t know there was such a thing as the “World Bee Day,” Takashi Murakami x PANGAIA are letting you know now! The quirky Japanese contemporary artist and sporty sustainable brand have teamed up to make a capsule collection dedicated not only to the holiday but to the busy bees as well!
Cozy with a Cause
“The UN considers bees to be the most important species, they pollinate 75% of the world’s food crops,” shared PANGAIA on their Instagram page. “Today, we introduce ‘Bee the Change’ fund, powered by @Milkywire to protect and preserve vulnerable and endangered bee species across the world🌎.”
As per their announcement, funds from their limited edition Takashi Murakami x PANGAIA collection will automatically go to their new fund, all in an effort to safeguard the species.
Unsurprisingly, the Takashi Murakami x PANGAIA capsule line consists of mostly easy basics. Hoodies made in their signature recycled cotton and breezy tees that are both comfortable and casual. They have the sporty element of the eco-friendly brand down pat. With Murakami’s touch, however, they look a little more eye-catching than usual.
Emitting Joy with Color
What will ultimately make catch people’s attention, however, are its happy color palette and colorful designs. For this collection, the brand let go of their signature neutral and pastel hues. They went with more stark shades of cobalt blue and orchid purple. Paired with Murakami’s smiley bee and flower characters, they evoke a childlike joy. This will likely resonate with a lot of customers.
The collection dropped exactly on World Bee Day, May 20, 2020. It’s now available on PANGAIA’s official online store. Visit their site and take a look at the entire collection! Afterward, you can share with us your thoughts and reactions in our comments section below!
