Virgil Abloh x Takashi Murakami “TECHNICOLOR 2”

Virgil Abloh x Takashi Murakami introduces the latest installment of their new collaboration. The “TECHNICOLOR 2” exhibition comes after their successful capsule earlier this year.

Virgil Abloh and Takashi Murakami revealed that they were teaming up for “wearable art” featuring William Shakespeare. Their three-way collaboration with Gagosian Gallery London sees the creation of an interesting and exciting tee.

Their “Future History” exhibit recently launched last Feb. 20. The display showcases large-scale paintings, sculptures, and installations. These also drew references to each artist’s signature motifs.

In addition, limited edition shirts accompanied the artworks. It features co-branded details like the Off-White logo in clash with Murakami’s iconic Mr. DOB character.

Blank tees received hand-printed imagery that combines Murakami’s signature style with Off-White’s trademark logo. There were only 400 t-shirts made available for purchase.

Life in Technicolor

Their latest show is at Gagosian Paris. Visitors can have the option to buy exclusive limited edition merch at the exhibit. This is to commemorate the works themselves.

Virgil Abloh took to Instagram to honor the opening. The Off-White designer showed off some of the exclusive co-designed T-shirts available at the exhibit.

The collaborative shirts showcase a mix of Abloh’s minimalist design along with Murakami’s iconic Superflat motifs and vibrant color scheme.
