Nan Goldin x Supreme For The Brand’s Artist Series

Nan Goldin x Supreme collaborated for its Spring/Summer 2018 collection. The range features the photographer’s key work.

Supreme previously announced Cindy Sherman as a collaborator for its Artist Series last year. Now, the streetwear giant looks to American photographer Nan Goldin as its latest muse.

Goldin became legendary in the photography industry. She took up photography to remember and cherish moments with her subjects. This came after her sister died from suicide at 11.

She has a candid, documentary-style work. Goldin tackles controversial topics such as addiction, sex, the LGBT community, and HIV. She also described her photographs as “the diary” that she “let people read.”

The collaboration showcases Goldin’s work from the ’70s and ’90s. The capsule collection includes coach jackets, hoodies, t-shirts, and skateboard decks.

All pieces boast of the photographers’ most recognized photos. Examples are Misty and Jimmy Paulette in a taxi, NYC 1991, Kim in Rhinestones, Paris 1991, and Nan as a dominatrix, Cambridge MA 1978.

The collection will be available in-store at Supreme’s locations in New York, Brooklyn, Los Angeles, London, Paris, and online from Mar. 29. It will be available in Japan on Mar. 31.

Meanwhile, the Supreme x Public Enemy x UNDERCOVER collaboration features an assortment of hoodies.
